In the meantime we had a visit from de Duivencoach (see the link on this web-site). It was a very pleasant visit and he made a wonderful story. You can read the story on the site of de Duivencoach 2011.

The "Kadet", the "Schoon donker", the "Benjamin", the "Witneus", the "Junior", the "Piet", the "Wittekrop", the "Witneus" and the "Prins", they were all 9 children of the Meulemans family heirs "Oude Van den Bosch" x "Blauwe Janssen". They wrote history in racing pigeons and made the name Meulemans world-wide famous. At the first place the pencilled pigeons from the Meulemans strain were very populair, because the "Kadet" was a pencilled one. But in the meantime sometimes there was a chocolat-coloured pigeon born from the children from the "Oude Van den Bosch" x "Blauwe Janssen" and they were even as good as the pencilled ones. Many people are wondering where that chocolat colour came from. Very simple, the mother of the ancestor "Oude Van den Bosch" was a red pigeon. Choco's, beautiful and good.
Warm greetings,
Willem Mielekamp

Hello there. My name is Brenda Hendriks and I'm the girlfriend of Willem Mielekamp. Before I met Willem the only pigeons I knew were all grey and living near stations in the big city. I never knew there were so many different coloura and races. The Meulemans-pigeons are very beautiful but the Spanish pigeons were kind of different. In consultation with Willem I decided to breed and raise them. There came a couple of pairs from Spain and I worked with them. The Laudino Sevillano is very special to me because they are very devoted and intelligent. Willem teached me lots of things about raising pigeons. We decided to get involved with the colour red (because we like that so much). I also started with showing out my pigeons (as an ex-catbreeder it's in my genes). I had one cock which I couldn't ure for my breed (blue black-tied) and registered him for the Championshow in Nieuwegein, but for sale (I was very curious for the judge-report}. What a surprise the pigeon won an excellent 1 with 97 points and became a certificate of honour from the Nederlandse Sierduivenbond for best Spanish Cropper. Well okay, he was sold. But I'm going through with the breeding of my red-ones, from this race, which I like so much. First results are in several litters. I hope to keep you informed for many years!
Warm greetings, Brenda Hendriks.
Breeding my Granadino's was good last year. Beautiful young birds and quit a few strange colours. You never can tell what a Granadino gives you. The race is from the area Granada in Spain. Coming years I would like to focus on the breeding of brown-white and black and white colours. Difficult in here is that the colour may be for 1/3 part may be white and the eye-lid must be bright orange till red!!!. With my plain brown coloured hen Belle I won on the clubdag from the SIS in the Zuiderpark in The Hague my 1st prize of honour as you can see on the picture.
With kindly regards, Thijs Mielekamp.
